When to fell and when not
Respect trees, but sometimes they need to go.
Trees are always valuable. Yet there are moments when felling makes more sense than keeping, sick trees, dangerously leaning trunks, trees keeping your house dark year-round, or trees with roots causing damage.
Safety problems
A leaning tree, hollow trunk, dead crown, ingrown fungus, all signs a tree may fall over. We assess and fell where needed.
Too much shade
A large walnut or poplar can keep a garden dark all year. Sometimes serious pruning is enough, sometimes only removal helps.
Root damage
Roots pushing up paving, crushing pipes or affecting foundations. We first check if root pruning is enough, otherwise removal is needed.
Sick or dead trees
A dead tree is a safety risk. Felling, optionally cutting to a habitat post, and making space for new planting.
Felling permits
We handle the permit process.
For most large trees in Wintelre, Veldhoven, Eindhoven and surroundings a felling permit is required. Each municipality has its own rules (trunk circumference, protected species). We know what applies where and help you through the full process:
- Assess whether a permit is needed for your tree and municipality.
- File the permit application.
- Handle any objection procedure.
- Safe execution of the felling once the permit is granted.
- Cleaning up branches and trunk, removal or on-site shredding.
- Stump grinding if requested.
Pruning
Not felling, just expert pruning.
Often a tree can be saved with proper pruning. We do crown reduction, pollarding, removing deadwood, crown lifting for more light below, and all other specialist pruning work. With proper care and selective removal you can see your garden in its full glory again.
